Co-op Update: November/December 2021
Happy 2022! We’re excited to keep making big strides towards making a new co-op real this year. Huge thanks to everyone who volunteered time during our several steering committee meetings over the last few busy months. Here’s some updates about what we did before the end of the year:
New Name: Charles River Food Co-op
Our new logo! And our website is now at: https://charlesriverfood.coop
Thanks to our survey from October, we decided on a new name for our organization: Charles River Food Co-operative! We’re shortening that to “Co-op” for our public/marketing name for the time being. We got some great designs for social media campaigns thanks to Jacob Waites that hopefully we’ll be putting into use soon!
Neighboring Food Co-op Association Membership
We’re now officially associate members of the NFCA, which along with the Food Co-op Initiative has been an invaluable source of help in these initial stages for us. A huge thanks to Erbin Crowell + Bonnie Hudspeth at the NFCA for their help so far, and a shout out to JQ Hannah at FCI too!
Legal Team / By-laws Progress
We’re on track to get our co-operative’s by-laws and articles of organization filed with Massachusetts by this Spring. We’re hoping to be part of the market season for a few nearby towns to help build our membership base up. If you would love to help out with a table event, read on!
How can I help?
We’re always looking for volunteers to help us organize, and soon help with outreach/membership campaigns. If you’re interested, please fill out the form here or email info@charlesriverfood.coop!
